Tulsa voters filled a room at Tulsa Community College Center for Creativity to listen to the 2013 Tulsa Mayoral Forum. The hour-long debate featured Mayor Dewey Bartlett, former Tulsa City Councilor Bill Christiansen and former Mayor Kathy Taylor.
Some of the voters told FOX23 that they have already decided on which candidate they will vote for in the primary while others are undecided.
Prior to the forum, voters told FOX23 reporter Brittany Jeffers that they had certain topics that had hoped would be addressed during the forum.
One Tulsan said that they wanted the candidates to talking about bolstering jobs in the city. Gary Myers said that he was anxious to hear all of the candidates views face to face.
“I’m really concerned about the financial circumstance and the future of Tulsa,” said Myers.
Gun control, crime prevention, city budget and river development were some of the questions that were presented to the candidates.
Crystal Pearson said that their responses will give her something to think about when it comes time to vote in the primary.
“After tonight I will definitely have some things to make some assessments on in terms of what directions I'll be voting in,” said Pearson.
Meyers told FOX23 that the forum and the topics discussed influenced his feeling about the candidates.
“I think it reinforced some impressions that I had and its very valuable to me and I appreciate it very much.”
