The skyline shined brightly Friday night in remembrance of a teen.

The Mid-Continent Tower displayed the number "13" in honor of Brock Norton, who was killed in a car accident last week.

Thirteen -- a symbol of 16-year-old Brock Norton and a number many associate with him.

"Because everyone thought it was unlucky, it was instantly,  'Hey, that's my lucky number 13,'" Norton's friend DJ Dawson said.

Norton was killed in a car accident only a week ago on Highway 64 near 177th West Avenue.

Troopers tell FOX23 Norton's truck slid on the ice and he was ejected.

Dawson has known Norton for over 10 years and misses him already.

"Funny, loud, really loud. Joyous. Completely just the biggest hearted guy I have ever known in my entire life," Dawson said.

And a kid who loved the game of baseball.

"Competitive baseball brings a tight knit group of people together," said Mike Goodman, whose son played on the same team as Norton.

And that's why he wanted to do something special in Norton's memory.

"This is a nice, neat way of doing something to memorialize him for them one last time," Goodman said.

Goodman told FOX23 that he has a few connections with the Coldwell Banker Commercial Group, which manages the Mid-Continent Tower, so he pulled some strings, and Friday night, downtown shined for Brock.

"I don't know of anybody who has ever gotten anything lit up on a building downtown, so it was a feat to pull off, but we did it and I'm glad we did it. Hopefully the family can get some closure and peace out of it," Goodman said.

Mayor Maynot. Go back to your basement. I pray you dont have children of your own and if you do that if tragedy ever befalls you that someone is as heartless to you as you are to this family. You are a digusting pig.

Whatever. Let this poor teen rest. Memorializing his sudden death because he was irresponsible enough NOT to wear a seat belt doesn't sound right. Memorializing Brock because his parents were not good enough parents to say "The weather is bad, no I don't think you should go out tonight" that doesn't sound right. Just an irresponsible teen with weak parents. NOT WORTH THIS MUCH MENTION
