The Rev. Billy Joe Daugherty, 57, the founding of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, lost his battle to Lymphoma early Sunday morning.

Pastor Daugherty's ministry extended beyond the walls of the church. He started over 500 Victory Bible Institutes in 85 countries around the world.

The multi-media man of God also spread the word to 100 million households during his daily broadcasts via television, radio, and the internet.

Associate Pastor Bruce Edwards expressed that Pastor Daugherty's spirit and outreach ministries will live on.

"We're going to continue on that vision and take it to a place where God put it in his heart," Edwards said.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, November 30 at the ORU Mabee Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be mailed to the church.  Funds can be designated for missions, building fund, or any ministry, which will allow the church to continue the pastor's vision.

I thought those who have enough faith are supposed to get healed? What happened? Did he just lack faith? So either he didn't have sufficient faith to get healed, or else this is but one more case in point that so-called "faith-healing" doesn't work and is false doctrine after all. If this doctrine is true, then why does any so-called faith healer ever die?

Billy Joe was a great man of God with a heart of integrity and compassion for others. I was blessed to meet him at ORU as a student and he will be greatly missed. He lived with he believed. Heaven is richer today with his soul with the Lord.
