Verdigris police investigating accidental shooting

Verdigris police say a two-year old got ahold of a gun; it recoiled and injured him Friday morning.

Police told FOX23 that the mother was inside her house heard a gunshot and found her son next to a gun with a bump and some scratches on his head.

Police are investigating how the child got ahold of the gun. Police told FOX23 the two year old was alert when medics took him to the hospital.

The chief of police said no charges are expected.
