THIS is really heartbreaking...I feel for her. I know people find it easy to judge her for her actions and her drug use. Clearly, she has "issues"...but who DOESN'T? The fact that her mother is incarcerated lends insight into why she might not have the best coping skills, and be led to desperate acts in order to be with her mother. There are far too many people imprisoned in our country that would be far better served by counseling, and behavioral therapy (mainly classes on communicating effectively) and general life skills. When I see things like this, I feel that we, as a community, or our overall "system" is failing. This is a matter of PUBLIC HEALTH. And without mental health, and quality of life (skill) assistance, and education, there is very little hope for a positive outcome. If we don't want this to become the "norm" (more than it already is), and we don't want "people like this" around us, then we need to help them however we can to become good neighbors, citizens, and families...for the sake of us as a whole.
