Tulsans may have to start paying more each month for utilities.

The Tulsa Metropolitan Authority is proposing a 7 percent increase for water and a 9 percent increase for sewer.

If the increases are approved by the City Council they will go into effect on October 1st.

The additional revenue from the rate increases would be used to pay down debt and fund maintenance projects.
