A chain is wrapped around a gate FOX23 News exposed that was unsecure at the apartment complex where there was a quadruple murder.

The pedestrian gate where residents would kick or reach through the gate and unlock it on the other side, now has a chain around it.

On Monday, four women were executed in Fairmont Terrace. Twin sisters, Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor who were 23, Misty Nunley, 33 and a neighbor, Julie Jackson, 55 were gunned down in an apartment near 61st & Peoria.

Before the murders, management at Fairmont says security would randomly check IDs at the drive-thru gate and scan their IDs. They worked with Tulsa Police on how to better their security last fall.

However, residents and those uninvited would use the unsecure pedestrian gate.

FOX23 News obtained a copy of the letter from Fairmont Terrace that states security will be increased. All residents and visitors and passengers and pedestrians must use the drive-thru gate. Anyone over 18 must have an ID. Anyone who does not have an ID will not be allowed inside and the visitors must be buzzed in.

It says the pedestrian gate will be locked permanently.

Tulsa Police homicide detectives say they have not named a suspect or have determined a motive.

The person of interest, Joseph Tillman, 33, was arrested in Independence, Kansas on a separate warrant involving assault and battery.  Detectives have spoken to him but tell FOX23 he is not a suspect.

Homicide detectives named him as a person of interest after he refused to talk to police. They say Tillman had a relationship with one of the victims.

A memorial fund has been set up for the twin sisters at RCB Bank and Arvest Bank.

While I am very sad about this shooting I pray that he focus on 61st/Peoria doesn't take attention off the rest of the city. Sure, I would like to see this area improved, but the entire city needs improved. I've lived in Tulsa for over 35 years and I am so ready to get out of the city because of all thie violence. You almost can't turn your TV on in the morning without hearing there was another homicide. God help us all!

Hey apeman don't forget to register for your entitlement check. Registration ends march 1st. Wouldn't want you to miss your entitlement check. Especially since you feel more entitled than others. Could be worth a lot of buckskins for a poverty stricken lout like you. Maybe you could buy a new wigwam and move out onto the great prairie to commune with your ancient ancestors the rock and the mud. You can live again in the entrails of the buzzards that gorge on your carcASS. Spreading your disease to the gophers that are your cousins.

apeman do you read or do you just spew garbage. The first paragraph in this news story openly states that it was brought to the attention of the apartment complex by a member of fox news. Oh yea I forgot your advanced stage of alzheimers makes you forget. Folks quit eating the microwave popcorn with artificial butter flavor. It causes symptoms that are the same as alzheimers.

Yep, anyone who has worked in a business which uses prox cards can tell you, one swipes the card, 15 go through....even when they could lose their jobs, they still don't turn around and say...no you have to swipe your own card, so armed guards is the only way, and that won't help if the murderer lives in the complex himself, I don't know if this one did, but haven't heard anyone address that yet, so just saying....so often the perp lives in the same place the victim does.

Woopeee So what ??? They are coming in through the main gate. One car trips the gate three more ride in on their coat tails just like an ant trail. For efficient security you need to have a checkpoint Charlie with armed guards checking everybody coming and going. Skankin thugs could jump that fence just like a toad. But I gotta say "nice effort" !
