Two Union schools were on lockdown on Wednesday morning due to burglary suspects in the area.

Union Senior Executive Director of Communications, Gretchen Haas-Bethell said both McAuliffe Elementary and the Union 8th Grade Center were locked down around 8:40 a.m. because Tulsa Police were in pursuit of two burglary suspects in the area.

The district’s transportation department diverted buses headed to the schools but were able to deliver all students by 9 a.m., after it was clear the suspects were not on or near the school campuses.

All students are safe and accounted for, and school is underway as normal.
