Tulsa police found two bodies in a west Tulsa home on Tuesday afternoon.
Police told FOX23 the deaths were a murder-suicide. Officers went to a home near 61st Street and 33rd West Avenue after getting a call to check on someone's well being around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Police say the call came from a family member.
Police tell FOX23 it appears the husband, a 61-year old, shot and killed his 52-year old wife before taking his own life. Police and neighbors say there was a history of domestic issues.
"It was shocking," said neighbor, Earnestine Newton. "You didn't really know what was going on. We saw cops out here last Friday."
Last Friday, neighbors said police ordered the 61-year-old man out of the house and on the ground.
"He walked out of the house carrying a bottle of water," said Newton. "He didn't know what was going on. I heard he had dementia."
Police told FOX23 that they found a weapon inside the house.
"Everything inside is consistent with a homicide and a suspect taking his own life," said Sgt. Dave Walker.
