For the seventh year in a row, Global Entrepreneurship Week will be held in Tulsa, Nov. 18-22, 2013.
TGEW is a week dedicated to engaging people across Tulsa to join a growing movement of entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Events during TGEW are being hosted by entrepreneurs, business leaders and educators and events are open to anyone interested in entrepreneurialism or small business.
"TGEW continues its seven-year tradition of promoting and encouraging the growth of Tulsa’s entrepreneurial community,” Sean Griffin, TGEW Chair said. “As producers of Oklahoma’s largest annual celebration of all things entrepreneurial, over 18 events and workshops will be taking place, making 2013 our largest and most successful TGEW to date."
An event new to TGEW this year is the Food Truck Owner Panel, focused around the new food truck movement that rolled in to Tulsa. Other events being held during the week include entrepreneurial workshops and panels, as well as networking, pitching and coaching opportunities.
TGEW will officially kick-off on Nov. 18, 6 p.m. at the Dust Bowl, 211 S. Elgin Ave. The highlight and culmination of TGEW is the Tulsey Awards, which recognize the entrepreneur heroes of Tulsa. The 6th Annual Tulsey Awards will be held on Nov. 21, 7 p.m. at the Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. First St.
Griffin added, “TGEW helps entrepreneurs and business owners generate new ideas and seek better ways of doing business. With the many activities held during TGEW, the entrepreneurial landscape of Tulsa has emerged as a nationally recognized leader at fostering entrepreneurs. We continue to see new businesses created in Tulsa through our efforts in the community.”
Global Entrepreneurship Week was created by the world’s largest foundation devoted to entrepreneurship, the Kauffman Foundation. Across the world, Global Entrepreneurship Week engages countries across six continents to come together and celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week during November.
All of the events during TGEW are being coordinated by the city’s Economic Development Commission, Entrepreneurship Committee. The complete list of Tulsa Global Entrepreneurship Week events are below and can also be found at, http://www.tulsagew.com
