The website Military Friendly Cities ranked Tulsa as the eighth best city for military personnel and veterans to live and work.

The Military Friendly Cities list measures the number of job openings at Military Friendly Employers, the number of Military Friendly School campuses and the number of registered veteran-owned businesses located within the region. It also takes into account cost of living and unemployment rates.
“The dedication and commitment that our citizens bring to the military and veteran community is unparalleled,” Mayor Dewey Bartlett said. “With one of the largest Veteran’s Day parades in the nation and home to organizations that set the standard for veterans programs across the country, Tulsa is proud to support those men and women of the armed forces that have served our country with such honor and distinction.”
