A Tulsa police officer is receiving certification to become the 4th person in the state and 2nd TPD officer to be certified as a Type 3 Incident Commander.

Corporal Dan Miller was approved by the Oklahoma All-Hazards Incident Management Team oversight board to serve as a single resource commander for deployment on large-scale incidents.

The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security and the All Hazards Incident Management Team board developed the processes to form Type 3 and Type 4 All-Hazards Incident Management Teams (AHIMT) in the State of Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Incident Management Team also certified Officer Adam Woodard as a Type 3 Planning Section Chief.
Officer Woodard was able to complete his certification by travelling to New York and working with other emergency responders during Hurricane Sandy.
