Tulsa police are investigating a shooting at Garden Courtyard apartments near 41st and Garnett Monday night. Police say one man was shot at an upstairs apartment. This was the fifth murder in one day.
TPD dispatchers say the call came in just before ten, and it took a few minutes for officers to locate the victim. Police say 51-year-old Christopher Odis Williams had been shot in the back several times. He was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he died.
Officers say Williams was at the apartment complex to take care of his sister, who is sick. So far police have not found anyone who witnessed the shooting, but they did get several calls from people who heard gunshots. Tulsa Police believe this was a random shooting.
Officers will be back out at the scene on Tuesday, checking surveillance video from a nearby business. Homicide detectives will also continue to investigate the murder of four woman at the Fairmont Terrace Apartment Complex in South Tulsa.
