Police arrested one suspect but, believe more could be jailed in Tulsa’s latest homicide.
"We are tired of people lying to us," said Tulsa Police Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker. "It's time for everyone to understand that you are going to be held accountable."
Sunday night, Tulsa police homicide detectives arrested Chiquita Bulger, 23, for the murder of 22-year-old Emily Clark at the Addison Apartments in the 10100 block of E. Admiral Pl.
Bulger’s arrest report states one of the witnesses told police he heard Bulger say she killed Clark because she “snitched.”
Police say this case is not over and if people don’t start talking they’re going to jail.
Six hours after Clark talked to police about an arrest, Clark was shot and killed.
"This person should not be dead for whatever transgression she may or may not have done,” said Walker.
Police say witnesses are telling police different stories.
"We are not stupid people,” said Walker.
Less than three hours after Clark’s murder, homicide investigators arrested Bulger for murder.
"We are tired, absolutely tired of people lying to us," said Walker.
The homicide sergeant says this is not just about this murder but recent murders.
"I think it's time for those who tend to hide or lie to us are held accountable," said Walker.
He says parents will be held accountable, witnesses who run or people who conceal evidence.
"We are here to investigate the worse of the worse, you want to lie to us knock yourself out. I'm sick of it,” said Walker.
In the quadruple homicide at Fairmont Terrace, police locked up four people who weren’t truthful with investigators.
"When they start asking questions, they better give the right answer," said Walker.
With the homicide rate at 13 by mid-February, detectives say they’re not tolerating senseless murders and senseless people.
"I'm tired and really people are dying for stupid stuff,” said Walker.
Criminal records show Bulger has been arrested twice since 2011 for stealing.
FOX23 News found ads Clark posted for adult services on Backpage.com. Police say since October, 2012 police made contact with Clark twice. They wouldn’t say for what but report in the 5900 block E. 11th Street and 100 block of N. 67th Street, both areas notorious for prostitution.
In Tulsa for 2013 for there have been 13 homicides. Officers say the homicide rate is on track for a higher homicide rate than year’s past.
There were 46 homicides reported in all of 2012 and in 2011 there were 53 homicides.
