Tulsa police are cracking down on red light runners.
The Tulsa Police Department Mingo Valley Traffic Unit will focus on red light violations on South Memorial Drive from Monday, November 26th through Friday, November 30. Officers will be randomly monitoring all intersections on Memorial Drive and will be giving $200 citations for any violations, there will be no warnings.
Police urge all drivers are encouraged to pay special attention to all traffic signals. Violation of a red light is a leading cause of injury collisions in intersections. South Memorial Drive has several of the most dangerous intersections in the City of Tulsa, and it is the Traffic Unit’s goal to reduce the frequency and severity of those collisions.
