Crooks are now waiting for their targets to come to them.
Within a week's time, FOX23 has told you about two pizza delivery workers robbed while on the job.
The latest robbery was Wednesday night. The one before that took place on Saturday night. Police say it's a constant problem.
Mazzio's was the most recent target.
"In this particular case, the driver had very little extra cash on him at the time, he also fully cooperated and doing those two things kept him safe," said Lori Selby with Mazzio's.
The driver was unharmed. But he lost his cellphone and the company's money.
"Our drivers are trained to keep only enough cash to make change when necessary," said Selby.
Mazzio's said the incident rate for such things within the company is very low. But another pizza delivery robbery just a few days prior prompted FOX23 to check with police.
"Unfortunately, pizza delivery guys get robbed quite a bit, it's almost a constant thing," said Sgt. Brandon Watkins with the Tulsa Police Department.
Watkins said there are a few cases of this every week because delivery drivers are vulnerable subjects.
"They're usually delivering after dark in poorly-lit places," he said.
And sometimes it's a setup.
"It's just a totally bogus name, a bogus address, they go to the address and it appears to be abandoned and the next thing they know they're getting beat or robbed," he said.
FOX23 learned Mazzio's is also doing an investigation into the robbery. Selby said the average tenure of their drivers is about five years.
"We put a lot into the training of our employees to ensure that they're safe," she said.
FOX23 found out the delivery man who was robbed this week was offered free counseling if he opted to take it.
