Tulsa will not be impacted by cuts at PepsiCo.
The company plans to cut 8,700 jobs, about 3% of its workforce, in an effort to offset higher costs for ingredients and increased advertising spending.
Corporate officials told FOX23 the cuts will largely be in management and will not affect Tulsa. The company expects the restructuring will save the company $1.5 billion by 2014. That's on top of $1.5 billion in cost cutting it previously announced.
Pepsi announced the layoffs on Thursday.
