A Tulsa man said his trip to the Promenade Mall turned offensive.

Ant'Juane Baul told FOX23 that a sales associate used a racial epithet, the n word, after a disagreement about her service.

"Didn't even acknowledge me being there, didn't ask if I needed help," said Baul.

Baul said the sales associate ignored him and made him feel uncomfortable when he entered the dressing room.

"I said 'ma'am, I know how to dress myself," said Baul.

When the clerk told him she was only helping he said, "I'm like, you know what ma'am, your customer service skills suck."

Baul said he requested to speak with a manager, but the employee called security.

He said he purchased a pair of Levi's jeans and attempted to leave the store, but before Baul exited he said the associate said, "(epithet), you don't scare me."

"That's the world we live in," said Baul. He said the service was hurtful and disrespectful.

Baul did meet with store management; they refunded his money and gave him the jeans he'd purchased that day.

"She told me 'We still want you to come here and shop with us,'" he said.

FOX23's Frank Wiley called the store several times and left messages. Employees said a manager was not available; he also went to the store and was told the same thing.

Why is it only news worthy when a white person says n*gger but a group of black people call each other n*gger more times than you can count and that is OK? Ridiculous double standard. It is a derogatory word and you can not change that by being black and using it. If you get offended shopping somewhere don't shop there anymore.

I shared this story with my neighbor. He said the customer sounded like a woman. I said no he's not. My neighbor said it still sounds like a woman.

Given the remarks the customer admitted to making, I would take his story with a grain of salt. FOX23 needs to be a lot more neutral than they apparently are here.

I put this story under the heading "race baiting" because the sales person did not give her side of the story.Maybe the shopper is telling the truth but there is so much race baiting by the television media I am suspicious.

OMG,someone needed attention like a 4yr old brat, eh? ya know~ act like an A hole, get TREATED like an A hole. I'm SO sure he called HER ma'am. NICE performance, by the way... see, you DO know how to act! YOU can DO it, lol! Hey,I'm white and live on the WAY north side. If I cried every time I got called 'cracker' or some other nasty racist comment, I'd never leave the house, hahaha. Or maybe I should call a "NEWS" station, rotflmao... 'But that's the world we live in TODAY.' Yuk, yuk, EVOLVE, please, like the rest of us are trying to do.

I would like to hear the store clerks side of the story, but it doesn't matter. There is no excuse to purposefully denigrate anyone by calling them racial epithets.

Do you really think this is news for posting on internet website. When I was young I had polio and ended up with one short foot. Somebody called me "hump foot'. It hurt me but as I recall it didn't make the news. Give this stuff a res

Where is the news here? This is all just hear-say? Why isn't the sales associate's side of the event discussed in this report? There could have been far more actions on the part of the customer that lead up to this.
