Tulsa police arrested a man for a hate crime for allegedly slashing a woman's tires, assaulting her and yelling racial slurs.
Police arrested Stuart Manning on Thursday.
The victim talked exclusively to FOX23. She said she parked outside a sub shop when a man got upset with her for parking too close.
She said what he did next still has her scared and worried, and that's why her name and face were not revealed.
"I'm really still scared and worried," she said. "But he shouldn't be doing that to anybody no one should be feeling what I feel right now."
She told FOX23 she parked her car in front of a sub shop near Pine and Lewis to grab a bite to eat a few weeks ago.
"It was so cold I had my head wrapped in a scarf," she said.
She said she was walking into the sub shop when a man in a Jeep got upset with her for parking too close to his jeep.
"I just looked at him, smiled at him and walked away," she said.
Then she said he yelled a racially charged phrase repeatedly. The phrase is too graphic for FOX23 to use; it is listed in the arrest report.
She said she went inside to get her food but he was still outside.
"And I was thinking to myself, 'why is he still standing there, he's sitting in his car;' then I glanced again and he was outside his car with the door open standing," she said. "I was thinking he was going to jump me or hit me when I walk out."
She ordered her food and glanced back outside and that's when she said she saw him by her front tire.
"So, I ran out and called out to him, 'What are you doing?' He looked up to me and ran to his car," she said.
She told FOX23 she reached for his keys so he couldn't get away before police got there.
"He swung at me with his left hand hit me on the forehead. And I knew I couldn't hit him so I grabbed his glasses off his face and he took off," she said.
Police arrested and booked Manning on Thursday.
The victim said there's one place to go after this, "To church and God, that's all I can do."
The woman told FOX23 she is from Lebanon, but has been in America for decades and is Roman Orthodox.
