Tulsa City County Libraries are now safe places for troubled teens in Tulsa.
On Tuesday, library officials announced they were joining with the Safe Place program. There are now 216 safe place sites for teens in Tulsa. The places are designated by large yellow and black signs.
Other locations include QuikTrips, fire stations, police departments, EMSA ambulances and Tulsa Transit buses. When children go to a Safe Place and ask for help a volunteer will meet with them to assess their needs and take them to the youth shelter if necessary.
