Unwashed...ever taken any rabies shots?,many of them in the stomach.I'm sure the homeless guy had all the shots up to date though, another responsible dog owner I'm sure.

This dog was clearly a boxer mix. Any breed can behave badly under poor ownership and neglect. $10k is ridiculous and it only shows the greed of the dog owners. The police didn't file any child endangerment charges. I know this guy and there's no way he'd do something so rash without a good reason. I'm sure in the end the explanation will prove him to be the man I've known.

The name of the police officer that shot the homeless man's dog to death two weeks ago was never released, nor was any news of what discipline or training he should have to undergo to bring his dog-related skills up to par with just about any postal worker. This story goes to show that there are double standards when it comes to animal cruelty.

We had a boxer when I was growing up, he was a great dog, we lived in the boonies so he wasn"t really sociable except for the family, he loved us, my parents moved to a small town, and the local peeping tom poisoned him because he bit him when he was trying to peek into my little sisters room one night. Bo was a wonderful dog, but he would bite anyone who didn't belong in the yard, he didn't bark much at all though, that sounds like a lonesome or bored dog to me. Boxers are so inbred in the U.S some are kind of retarded because of it. Wouldn't buy one from Oklahoma, chances are it would be inbred.

Boxers are great dogs they are very loyal and very protective of thier family but they are very high strung and do bark a lot.My sister has had several over the years and has had some trouble with them biting children who come to visit. The last puppy they bought the breeder made them sign a contract to have the dog spayed and sent to two different obedience schools and provide records of the dogs shots for several years and a photo of thier backyard and the doghouse it was to sleep in.This should be required of all large dogowners. You could tell this dog to stop barking and it would stop right then ,unfortunately people buy these dogs and cant afford the care they require or are to lazy to give it to them.Large dogs are alot of work and need constant attention.

obviously the guy was wrong for shooting the dog. but i have to say, i have fantasized about shooting my neighbors dog... its a shame.. there are no bad dogs, only bad owners. the neighbor is guilty of making a very bad decision that will ultimately injure his own family... the dog owner is very likely guilty of being a bad neighbor however, and a bad dog owner. if you own a dog and it is barking all day in the back yard, you should re-evaluate your decision to own dogs. you don't deserve to have an animal if you don't love it and keep it happy and content.

It states cops have came out a few times and didnt see a problem. I've owned 2 boxers and currently still have 1 and been around Alot of boxers and have never ran across a vicious Boxer...NEVER! They are "typically" very well mannered and friendly dogs. You never know but I'm just saying. And I also agree with PROFESSORJ...I think he has and will pay for his mistake and $10,000 is HIGH!! Maybe the cost of the dog and if there was any Vet fees involved should have to be paid to the owners. Amd MRSINTTOWN he is the defendant he's smart to keep his comments too himself until court. You have to be careful

See how differently the law treats our public servants....the firefighter listened to this annoying dog for so long he snapped and shot it when no one would do anything, he loses his job, is fined, a police officer commits sex crimes while on duty, possibly with minors....nothing! I worked for the city for quite a few years, I reported my boss to human resources for cruelty, harassment and other things and they sent me a letter saying if I didn't stop disobeying and disrespecting my boss I would be terminated, that is how the city works, cesspool of corruption and good old boys.
