A Tulsa family now has a place to call home thanks to generous co-workers.

Trenida Jackson's employer, Care ATC, stepped up to help after her family lost almost everything in a house fire.

As the sun relieved the trees from the weight of last weekend's ice, the Jackson family settled into their new home.

Trenida Jackson breathing a sigh of relief herself, thanks to fellow employees.

"They came together within a day, and now I'm here at this home," Jackson told FOX23. They made sure they paid the first month's rent for us."

The company rallied around Jackson after her family lost everything, including their house, in a fire not even a week ago.
"They were renting the home and the landlord didn't have insurance and the Jackson's didn't have renter's insurance, so they're having to start from scratch," Care ATC CEO Phillip Kurtz said.

Before feeling the light of their kindness Jackson and her husband with three kids didn't know what to do. However, they did know, if they had nowhere to live, they wouldn't be together for Christmas.

"My family lives in Kansas, so I would have had to send them there, and we wouldn't have been but now we are able to stay together," Jackson said.

That's why Jackson's son Elroy is particularly thankful for others' generosity.

Little did the people at Care ATC know they were fulfilling a teenage boy's Christmas wish.

When FOX23 asked him what he wanted for Christmas, he replied, "I already got it. My family."

It's something you certainly can't buy in stores or put under a tree.

So while they may not get the material things this holiday season, they will have each other.

They'll also have a place to call home, with enough to get by, thanks to people who care.

"We were excited to be able to do that. We would help any employee, but at Christmastime it makes it particularly more special," Kurtz said.

While the Jackson family does have a new home, they are still in dire need of other things like clothes and beds. If you want to help contact Sherri Couch at Care ATC. Her number is 918-779-7466 and email is shecouch@careatc.com.
