I am a teacher at this school and I am very grateful that Tulsa Public is working so closely with us to help us recover. Dr. Ballard's response was immediate that says so much about charter/public school relations. I am also thankful to all of the firefighters who bravely battled this fire and hope for a quick recovery of those injured. The students are already looking at what they can do for the firefighters..shows so much about their character. This is a very unique and special school that often goes unnoticed despite doing very remarkable things for and with students. The school doesn't get to pick students and yet we have some of the highest test scores in the state. We are a strong community and will do what needs to be done to get through this rough time. I also want to mention that construction was being done in the Chemistry lab. It is likely that firefighters may find this was electrical and ignited with a chemical in the lab.

The building may be gone, but the school will survive. It will be reborn and ThePhoenix is right, it will rise up out of the ashes stronger than ever.

This is my school, no, my home. I love TSAS with all of my heart. I am a sophomore there and I have loved my new building. We will be like our Phoenix and rise from the ashes of this building, we will stick together like the family we are. We love each other and the teachers won't let anything happen to us. Thank you to the brave firefighters who have gotten injured for trying to save the beautiful school, I pray for you and your families.
