The Tulsa Sports Commission announced Thursday that registration would be closed early for the 35th Annual Tulsa Run due to a maximum capacity level of participants.

The Tulsa Sports Commission was named race director in Feb. and is hosting its first Tulsa Run this Saturday, Oct. 27. Registrations were not planned to close until Noon today.

“We encourage everyone to come out to Finish Line Fest and enjoy the atmosphere,” Alex Alston, executive director of the Tulsa Sports Commission said. “Watch the football games, cheer on your friends who are participating, and enjoy some food, beverages and live music.”

Registrations neared 10,000 individuals at the time of closing. The Tulsa Sports Commission will announce final numbers as soon as possible.

“The Tulsa Run is truly Tulsa’s most loved and most historic race.” Alston said. “The Tulsa Sports Commission is so excited and honored to be a part of this event.”

12,0000 ran the race last year. What's the deal with stopping at around 10,000. We need the real story. Were they not prepared? Did the Sports Commission have enough race numbers and packages? Can runners that are not registered still show up and run the race? Please give us the real and complete report!!
