Some major changes are rocking the Tulsa chapter of the American Red Cross.
The entire board of directors has resiged in protest over the firing of the agency's chapter CEO, Mary Ogle.
Board members say Ogle was forced out of her job after 14 years with the agency, in the midst of a power struggle with the national American Red Cross headquarters.
The Red Cross issued a statement, saying:
"It’s important to know that these changes will have minimal impact on the role of local boards. Volunteer boards still play a key role in steering the direction of the local chapter and ensuring its growth and success.
We never want to see good people leave the Red Cross family. but we knew that these changes would be difficult for some people. so we understand if they choose not to stay with the Red Cross."
The board says it will withdraw the resignations if Ogle is re-instated.
The shakeup comes just weeks after the Red cross announced a re-structuring effort that eliminated four jobs, and made others part time.
