The Tulsa Police Department responded to a call around 9:40 p.m. Saturday. A black male walked into the RNS convenience store, located near Admiral and Sheridan streets. The man demanded cash and the female clerk gave him what she had in the register, but he wanted more. The suspect yelled at the clerk to empty the safe and give it to him. The female clerk explained she didn't have access to the safe; the suspect punched the female in the face and took off with the undisclosed amount of cash.
The clerk told police she thought it was a man who had previously been banned from the store, but she wasn't sure of his identity. After showing witnesses different mugshots, the police were able to tentatively identify the suspect but have not yet released his name.
The RNS store clerk did sustain injuries during the robbery.
