Tulsa Police Officer involved in two-car accident in east Tulsa

FOX23 has crews on the scene of an officer involved car accident in east Tulsa.

Tulsa Police told FOX23 that an officer was responding to a call when a woman driving an SUV tried to make a left hand turn into a parking lot and the officer hit the SUV.

The accident happened near 21st and Garnett.

Officers told FOX23 that the patrol car was not traveling with light and sirens.

The officer and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Responding without lights or siren #8 ^]] That's kinda like going to the bathroom before pulling down your pants. Hope both drivers will be OK. Sue the fire water out of TPD...

It's easy to misjudge how fast a speeding car is coming at you, which is why police should always use lights when they are exceeding the speed limit. As for the woman the officer broadsided, I imagine her injuries are much more severe than the officer who had an airbag, yet the spokesperson seemed only concerned with their own.
