All the ice has made some Tulsa streets even bumpier. Potholes and cracks in city streets can be seen all over the city.
For six years Fox 23’s Pothole Patrol program helped improve countless streets.
Fox 23’s Abbie Alford spoke city officials who say it’s launching a similar program.
Since 2002 Fox 23’s Pothole Patrol has helped the city fill hundreds of potholes on Tulsa streets.
A successful program thanks to viewers like Brandy who e-mail us letting Fox 23 know what they see.
"On Yale northbound between 35th and 33rd there are two huge craters... I have to drive over them every day... please get them fixed!"
Fox 23 alerted the city and two days later those craters were filled.
Here’s how the City of Tulsa’s Pothole Patrol program will work:
First, call the Mayor’s Action Center at (918) 596-2100 or e-mail mac@cityoftulsa.org. Secondly, report the pothole you want fixed and finally, the city says crews have 72 hours to temporarily repair the reported bad spots.
This applies to only city streets and does not include highways or interstates.
Mayor Spokesperson, John Durkee, says the commitment to fix reported potholes within three days can be fulfilled within the current budget that will not require additional taxpayer money.
