It's the holiday season, the time of year that most people travel to spend time with their families.
However with the recent winter weather, many people say their holidays are being put on hold.
FOX23 went to the Tulsa International Airport to find out how long people have been waiting to get to their destinations.
Lynn Roerick told us she has been waiting to depart for hours.
"I'm leaving for Minneapolis," Roerick said.
Her flight was suppposed to leave at 7 a.m., but it was canceled due to the weather.
She says she got put on a standby flight but she knows that's not a guarantee.
She told FOX23 she's been trying to do everything right, like showing up early and checking for cancelations.
But she says her organizations skills are no match for mother nature.
"It took me a half hour to scrap the ice of the car to get here," Roerick said.
Now she's hoping to get to her destination so she can enjoy the holidays.
"Today was suppose to be Christmas shopping with my daughter in Minneapolis and I've got her on it right now. She's doing my shopping for me," Roerick said.
She says now all she can do is hope she makes the standby list.
"Yea I'm here now, I'm just waiting," Roerick said.
