The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture announced its newest architectural initiative “Second Saturday.”
“Second Saturday” will be a standing monthly downtown architecture tour every second Saturday of the month beginning October 12th. The tour will begin at Topeca Coffee in the historic Mayo Hotel, 115 West 5th Street, the event will be a one hour walking tour through downtown, keying in on some of the highlights of Tulsa’s prestigious architectural collection.
“This is a great way to provide a standing date and time for the people of Tulsa who are interested in learning more about the architecture of downtown,” says Shane Hood, TFA Trustee, “You can learn more about our built environment, and at the same time support an organization whose mission includes the adaptive reuse and preservation of many of these same buildings.”
The cost will be $10 to benefit the non-profit Tulsa Foundation for Architecture.
The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture is a resource that recognizes, records, and encourages the adaptive reuse and preservation of the built environment and advocates quality future development that enhances Tulsa’s livability.
The inaugural “Second Saturday” event will happen this Saturday October 12th, 10am-11pm.
The tour will leave promptly at 10 o’clock.
