A water main break has forced Tulsa’s Parade of Lights coordinators have to make last minute changes.
The road is closed but not for Saturday’s parade, this water main rushed down and ripped up the streets.
“It’s pretty scary to be walking or driving down the street before they found it,” said Jay Lucas, a Tulsan.
FOX23 found out the Parade of Lights route is now shorter because of all the water.
“Even though it’s short it’d probably be a lot better since it’s so cold,” said Zachary Turman, a Tulsa.
Sgt. Les Young with Tulsa Police told FOX23 they don’t how much damage is done yet by the break.
“Better to be safe than to put anyone at risk,” said Young.
“Fire trucks going over that is unsafe for people especially if there’s children around,” said Turman.
The new parade route just leaves out the area impacted by the water main break.
“I think it’s a good decision until they get that intersection in that area fixed,” said Turman.
The start and the end of the parade are staying the same.
“Just don’t come west of Boulder because the parade is not going to be in this area,” said Young.
The parade starts at 6 on Saturday night.
