Tulsa is no longer under a burn ban.
The Tulsa County Commissioners have not renewed a seven day burn ban issued last week. That burn ban was issued after Governor Fallin removed Tulsa County from a state wide burn ban.
The commissioners say:
While a red-flag fire warning has been issued from the National Weather Service, emergency management officials notified commissioners that Tulsa County no longer met the criteria for a burn ban due to the following reasons:
- The National Weather Service forecasts more than one-half inch of rain over the next several days.
- Surveys of Tulsa County fire chiefs revealed that fire departments are having success in the initial attack of fires in their jurisdictions.
There are still 55 Oklahoma counties under that statewide burn ban and three counties have issued their own burn bans.
Creek, Delaware and Pittsburg counties are under county issued burn bans. You can see a map of all current burn bans on the
