Sheriff Stanley Glanz announced on Thursday the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center will be seeking re-accreditation through the American Correctional Association (ACA).
This re-accreditation is accomplished by demonstrating the agencies compliance with nationally established standards.
The Commission on Accreditation for Corrections and the American Correctional Association (ACA) are private, non-profit organizations directing the accreditation of correctional programs in the United States and other countries. ACA accreditation is part of the Triple Crown Award that the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office currently holds.
An on-site assessment to verify that the Sheriff's Office is meeting the professional standards established by ACA will conducted on October 29-31, 2012.
Accreditation for the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office and the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center, while difficult to obtain and to maintain, is a high priority for Sheriff Glanz and is deemed as an essential element in providing services to the citizens of Tulsa County.
The Sheriff's Office says anyone wishing to submit written comments about the ability of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office and the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center to comply with the standards for accreditation may mail comments to:
