Tulsa District Attorney Tim Harris recused himself from a case involving a shooting at the downtown Tulsa courthouse plaza.

A DA office official says Harris recused the office because employees were witnesses to the shooting and it was a conflict of interest.  The Attorney General has assigned the case to a Wagoner County DA. The trial will still be held in Tulsa County.

Andrew Dennehy is accused of opening fire at the plaza on March 7th. A deputy and bystander were shot; Dennehy was also shot and is still hospitalized.

No charges have been filed yet, prosecutors expect to get findings from TPD’s investigation into the shooting soon.

'A bullet that struck a bystander near the Tulsa County Courthouse on Wednesday likely was fired by a sheriff's deputy, police believe.' "I've looked at the video, and it is my opinion that it is going to be an errant deputy shot," Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker said Monday. "It's the only one that is going to make any sense, but we haven't confirmed that."

Cant blame him for wanting to distance himself from a friendly-fire screwup.
