Rivercross Hospice teamed up with Sandusky Avenue Christian Church to give a gift to each member of the church. Pastor Jeff Congdon gave everyone at church on Sunday an envelope.
"We need to start seeing the needs of other people, we need to start sympathizing with what they're going through, we need to seize the moment," Pastor Jeff Congdon said.
" Everybody I think just kind of sat there and was going, how much was in here, and you open it up and its 10 dollars," Church member Donna Lawson said.
Each member of the church received the money to begin a journey to change somebody's life.
" We get in such a hurry in life and we get really focused on our goals. What we are trying to accomplish what we are trying to get done and because of that, we miss people around us," Pastor Jeff Congdon said.
Members of the church plan on teaming up with their 10 dollars. Some buying christmas gifts for nursing home residents, others are looking to buy shoes for less fortunate students. One 9 yr. old boy said he's going to donate his money to John 3:16 for holiday meals.
" Its something that really gets you to think, about how are you going to use this. How are you going to spend this, how are you going to multiply this to be able to do some amazing things," Congdon said.
