The winter weather is causing cancellations and postponements across Green Country, but the show will go on for the Tulsa Christmas parade.

The organizers' barometer for keeping the parade as scheduled is another pretty big event on Saturday.

"The question we asked 'is Bedlam cancelled?' No. No, exactly," said Eddie Huff, one of the parade organizers.

Huff said the weather might actually enhance the Christmas atmosphere of the parade, but he knows people don't like to brave the cold.

"We're gonna have heaters out there. We're telling people to come a little later. If they do come, go in shops and restaurants to keep warm," he said.

That's music to the ears of businesses at Tulsa Hills, where the parade takes place.

The parade means more people and more people mean more money.

"For that meal period, we're up about 25 percent. It's a big boost for us. We go from, well, we'll fill up right after the parade," said Rick Larsen, who works in a restaurant at the complex.

"In year's past people would get out here ours before the parade started and get their spot here on Olympia," he said.

Organizers say don't do that because of the cold. They say get there about 5 o'clock, because the entrance at 71st and Olympia closes at 5:30.

The parade will start promptly at 6.
