Burglars are preying on people at local cemeteries and stealing their credit cards.

Tulsa police say in the last three weeks they’ve investigated 12 cases of car break-ins.

They say it’s happening at Memorial Park Cemetery, LaFortune Park, the jogging trail at 51st and Sheridan and surrounding parks.

Police tell Fox 23’s Abbie Alford victims are making it easy for thieves to steal credit cards.

Mother of two, Natalie Davis, says she’s too busy getting the kids out of the car at LaFortune Park to remember her purse is still in the car.

Fox 23’s Abbie Alford spots the purse on the front seat, so she approaches Davis and asks her why?

“I wasn't planning on being here for that long," says Natalie Davis.

Police say it doesn’t take long for crooks to rip people off especially if there’s a credit card in a purse or a bag on the front seat.

"In a matter of seconds these individuals are at the mall, they're at the gas pumps before you know it they've spent about $600 worth on your credit card," says Officer Leland Ashley.

Runner Juli Dunlap says she always leaves her purse and keys in the car, "I just don't think people are going to do it,” says Dunlap.

The recent break-ins are now making Dunlap aware of what goes on at some parks so Dunlap says she’s tucking her purse away before she arrives at the park.

However, Natalie Davis says she still won’t lock her car but she’s keeping her credit at home.

"I leave my credit card and ATM card at my house I don't carry that stuff with me," says Davis.

Police say if your credit card or personal information has been stolen call police first.

Then call your creditors or other institutions, they’ll ask for a crime report number.

Also make copies front and back of your credit cards and cards with personal information.

To learn more about credit card fraud and what’s being done to better protect consumers go to Fox 23’s Links And Reminders Webpage.

Police say the suspects in the recent car break-ins are described as two black men with shaved heads.

Police believe the suspects are driving a 1990’s model blue Cadillac and a grey Scion.

If you have any information call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS or text a tip or submit one online. For more information log onto Fox 23's Most Wanted Webpage.
