(Monday, September 15, 2008 5:00 pm by Kaci Christian, FOX23.com, Tulsa OK) –- The BOK Center has had a successful opening week. A BOK spokesperson says the Eagles concert grossed $1.8 million, generating $153,306 in sales tax revenues for the City of Tulsa. But with big crowds comes a bigger police presence, and a big bill for taxpayers. FOX 23’s Kaci Christian joins us now with more on the price of staying safe.

Most people will accept the following quote from the article as the truth but it is a LIE! "A BOK spokesperson says the Eagles concert grossed $1.8 million, generating $153,306 in sales tax revenues for the City of Tulsa." The City of Tulsa does not recieve 8.517% in taxes. The cities portion is MUCH smaller. Shame on the BOK spokesmen for misleading us and shame on Kaci Christian for not questioning such rediculous claims.

QUOTE: "John Durkee recently became the head of the Communications Department in the Mayor’s office. Durkee explains that the BOK is owned and operated by the City, with SMG, a private management company, contracted to manage the facility for the City. He says for one City department to charge another City department would just be shifting funds within the City" What a ridiculous statement. Apparently Mr.Durkee is the Mayor's lap dog!
