Traffic stop leads to 22 pounds of marijuana

A traffic stop near Oklahoma City nabbed 22 pounds of pot!

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy conducting a traffic stop on Highway 74 near N.W. 150th Street found the driver, Carlecas Blackwell to be driving with a revoked license.

Officials say the deputy was taking inventory of Blackwell’s car so it could be impounded and found a duffle bag with 19 bundles containing 22 pounds of marijuana. The deputy also reported finding a Glock-35 pistol and prescription medication.

Blackwell faces charges of possession of a weapon while committing a felony, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of drugs without a valid prescription, driving with a revoked license and failure to maintain insurance.

"There is no such thing as a routine traffic stop", said Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel. "This deputy did an incredible job and got a felon off the streets."

Blackwell posted bail and was released from jail.
