The medical examiner is still trying to figure out what happened to the child inside the apartment but until they do police are having a hard time figuring out if a person caused this toddler's death or if it was an accident.
Tulsa police Cpl. Greg Smith tells FOX23 news that the child was home with his mother's boyfriend, 19-year-old Jemaine Lovejoy, when the child became unresponsive.
When the boy's mother, 20-year-old Sarah Hopkins got home she called 911 but by the time the ambulance transported the child to St. Francis Hospital, it was too late, the child was dead.

TPD's Cpl. Smith says there was some bruising on the boy's body,
"it appears it's not necessarily normal, but yet it's nothing that would cause death. so, we're searching for another cause."
Smith continues to express his thoughts on this disheartening case,
"it is suspicious because of the nature of this young child dying rather suddenly without any previous medical conditions that would lead to that."

Stuart Sisson is a neighbor and was shocked to hear about the child's death.
"it's a horrible thing to have to deal with. I feel sorry for the parents, and my prayers are out for them."

Meanwhile, he says he's also praying  the child was not abused.

"I would never think that anything like that happen around me. but, I mean, there's no telling what happens behind closed doors."

Both the mother and her boyfriend have been cooperating with police in the investigation. Stay with FOX23 News and we will keep you updated as more details unfold.

Maybe because the TPD are fekking idiots and will arrest anyone without cause if they are NOT the parents. Every article I read eludes to this. If your not the parent, DO NOT CALL.

I'm not sure i understand parents these days, why is it that everyone seems to wait for the parent to come home before calling 911 ! if this was accendental or natural causes i still feel they should face something for the simple fact he was unresponsive before the mother even arrived home! that child could possibly still have a chance at a wonderful life! Prayers tot he family and i hope there was no abusive as well!!
