A local attorney’s office told FOX23 News it will file three lawsuits against local accused dentist Dr. Scott Harrington from his former patients.
Richardson, Richardson, Boudreaux, Keesling Law Firm said they are currently working on even more potential lawsuits from his patients.
Dr. Scott Harrington has been accused of using unsanitary instruments and possibly exposing more than 7,000 patients with blood infectious diseases in his 36 years of practice.
The Board of Dentistry and the Tulsa Health Department is investigating; although they only have records of his patients that date back to 2007. Those diseases include hepatitis B, C, and HIV. The Tulsa Health Department has already tested more than 3,000 of his former patients and 60 have come back with positive results.
One of the law firm’s lawsuits includes a woman FOX23 has interviewed since she tested positive for hepatitis C.
Another patient had a heart attack during a procedure in Harrington’s office and has now lost his job as a local police officer because he now has a heart condition.
The third lawsuit is from a woman who is suffering from immune deficiencies and almost lost an organ because of her immune condition. She says her doctors had no idea why she was having these problems but after the news broke about Dr. Harrington’s alleged malpractice she believed he was her only risk factor.
