Thieves are targeting a Tulsa woman who is sick and partially blind. She said she's had multiple terrifying encounters in the last week, including an encounter with a man who said he was going to rape her.
"I've been a prisoner here since my husband died," said Barbara Bauzers.
Bauzers struggles to get around.
"I have to sit with my feet elevated," said Bauzers.
Her bad back won't let her stray far from her chair. She has high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems and she's going blind.
She takes medicine for most of it, but Bauzers awoke to an empty pill box last week.
"I just don't know who to trust, I really don't. I don't trust anybody," said Bauzers.
Someone burst through her back window.
"I didn't hear anything," said Bauzers.
They stole her medicine. They came back while she was sleeping and did the same thing for the next two days.
"If I had more money I could hire someone stay overnight with me," said Bauzers.
Her caretaker stops in for a few minutes each day, but she doesn't have any friends or children to check on her.
Late last week, when she grabbed the mail, someone slipped into her front room.
"I heard him unzip his pants. He said, 'I just might rape you,'" she said.
She stood her ground.
"I said, 'Do you know I'm 68 years old?'" said Bauzers.
Then he asked for cash.
"I said, 'I've got two dimes and some pennies,'" said Bauzers.
He left, and he left Bauzers scared and feeling even more alone.
