A company known for its volunteer efforts is victimized by thieves.

Criminals targeted a trailer owned by Tulsa Stone and Brick Works loaded with $6,000 in equipment, but also items that were to be given to a local church.

The tire marks from where the red Friesen flatbed utility trailer was are visible in the parking lot of Bixby’s Northeast Elementary School construction site.

In the past ten years, the owner of Tulsa Stone and Brick Works says he’s never left a trailer on a job unsecured until last week.

"Came home late and thought will it be okay until the morning? No it wasn't," said randy Sissom.

When the owner got to the job site the next morning to start work on the school sign something was missing.

"Wednesday morning we come back and it's long gone, nothing," said Sissom.

He had registered the red flat bed trailer.

“It had a broken jack and a lock on the tongue and really a heavy load for most vehicles to pull," said Sissom.

However, the thieves were strong.

"You can see here where they have been scraping it out trying to pry it out. I think ultimately they pounded it off. It doesn't work you can see where they beat on it," said Sissom.

The Ingersoll mortar mixer was also gone.

"It means everything to us,” said Sissom.

Sissom said it’s the only mixer of its kind in Oklahoma.

"It was easier to transport,” said Sissom.

However, the stones on the trailer were special.

"That would have been the next stop, the church. Just didn't quite make it,” said Sissom.

The expensive stones were left from a job that Sissom was going to use to make a bench for St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Coweta.

"It's disheartening," said Sissom.

He doesn’t know what these thieves are doing with his equipment.

"For someone who could get it and was a thief they probably spotted it immediately,” said Sissom.

He knows these thieves have no mercy on him or the church they stole from. However, he has faith the crooks will be caught.

"Never trust the thieves that are out there," said Sissom.

He said he is checking with stone and brick suppliers and sand suppliers on any leads. He is also checking Craigslist for his equipment.

Sissom reports the VIN# on the red flatbed Friesen trailer is 4wfcf162021005351.

I paid for all stone myself and I always over order for waste etc. I over ordered (no extra charge to the homeowner because I am on a fixed price to complete the fireplace)knowing I wanted to donate benches to the church so rest assured I paid for the extra stone. Most people like to have contractors bid turn key then if any thing is leftover they want discounts but never any extra cost.

I actually bought extra stone for the church project. I buy the materials and price my jobs turn key so anything left over is mine. I have receipts where I bought all the stone.I paid for the stone and have receipts.

apeman wants to spread his zombie juice all over the place. In the bible it says to make a clean pure offering unto the lord. Not scraps. I'm still pretty well convinced that Sissom should have known better than to ignore his possessions. He knew better than to leave his valuable posessions at will for ten years. What made him think that it would be ok now. Apeman us a wannabe judge.

I have friends that are contractors and they always have leftover materials from jobs. The material was paid for by the person paying the bid though. Contractors hardly ever reimburse the person for leftover materials. Yea it sucks that the materials were stolen, but doubtful that the guy lost any money in the materials. Another thing, anyone that does contract work for an extended period of time always has an enclosed trailer. If I had thousands of dollars of equipment, I would pay a little extra an get an enclosed trailer with a tracking device on it. Not trying to bust this guys balls, but we live in a zombie infested country these days. People are always looking to steal and make money the easy way. Just surprised the police haven't started planting "bait" trailers throughout the city with tracking devices. Supposedly trailer theft is at an all time high around here, how about we do something about it TPD?

The stone still belonged to the contractor, most contractors pay for their materials themselves as part of the bid,and stone being almost impossible to figure a perfect amount there is always some left over, and this contractor being a good guy donates his labor and mat'ls to help a church...Mayor Maygnat would have us believe that he is the criminal, this guy is always for the crook...think he might be a wannabe lawyer

Too bad he ignored his property. On a donation level it really does not belong to the church until they have it in their hand. To hear him describe the material that he was donating it was left over from another job, so somebody probably already paid for it. His real loss would have to be his trailer and his mixer.
