Friday evening, someone broke into Complete Lawn Care, near Pine and Sheridan.
"This is where they broke in," said owner Tom Gillespie.
Broken glass and a boarded window provided enough room for $50,000 in damage at his shop.
Surveillance cameras rolled Friday night on into Saturday morning and recorded the thief in the act. The video shows a man dressed in dark clothing breaking into the shop.
Around 9:45 p.m., the thief hurled rocks at the window.
The thief didn't take anything, as he sprinted away, but returned at 1:15 a.m. Saturday. He swept up the mess he made just hours before, and climbed inside the building.
Moments later, he opened the overhead door.
"He took about half of our available equipment," said Gillespie.
Gillespie said he does about 200 yards a week. He told FOX23 he had cameras installed just days before the break-in.
"Sometimes people work harder not to work and steal stuff and earn a living," said Gillespie.
The masked man drove away with Gillespie's gear, including a trailer and Gillespie's truck.
The burglar came back sometime after 2 a.m. He returned the truck in exchange for two string trimmers.
Police are still searching for the thief. Complete Lawn Care said it is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
