The latest robbery in Tulsa was Wednesday night, the one before that took place on Saturday night prior. Police told FOX23 it's a constant problem.
Thieves struck an Amish furniture store in Mayes County overnight, Thursday. Amish Crafted Furniture lost nearly $20,000 of furniture and accessories. FOX23 went to the store for an exclusive interview with the owner.
The furniture store is in Chouteau, Okla. FOX23 saw the custom-made furniture and a new trailer that's going to try to haul more products back to Tulsa since some of their inventory is now gone.
FOX23 first found out about the missing furniture from a Facebook post. We then dug into the story and called Dale Yoder to find out exactly what happened.
"We had a load of furniture come in yesterday and we were not able to store it all in our storage area so we used our trailer," Yoder said.
He pointed out to us where the trailer was parked outside, but when they came back to the store in this morning, the trailer was gone.
"My son was scheduled to deliver today. We needed that trailer this morning. He was with me when I pulled in the driveway and he was going to start loading to deliver to customers," he said.
Customers can choose from different wood types and stain colors and one of the furniture sets was already purchased. Now they're behind in orders on top of a financial loss.
Yoder said there was more than just furniture inside. It had accessories and ornaments for the upcoming holiday season.
"We have serial numbers on everything that we have so I would be able to identify any piece of furniture that would possibly show up," he said.
Dale is hoping if someone tries to resell the items he can help Mayes County Sheriff's Department to catch them.
Yoder said their trailer has the Amish Crafted Furniture logo on it.
