FOX23 has followed the journey of a Coweta teen, Morgan Mitchell, who battled cancer four times.
Last December the town of Coweta came together for Morgan's Run, a fundraiser to benefit Morgan Mitchell's family and to help cover the cost of their enormous medical bills.
Morgan is now officially cancer-free and in the maintenance part of treatment. She told FOX23 that she now wants to help the city and other families who have helped her.
"To know that people have your back 100 percent and are there for you no matter what, when you need them the most, is a big deal," said Morgan.
The "All 4 One 5k" will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 in downtown Coweta in conjunction with the Coweta Fall Festival. The run is sponsored by the Coweta Chamber of Commerce and Go Bald or Go Home.
Chairwoman of the run, Trish Waller, told FOX23 that they would like to not only present Morgan's family with another check to defray the cost of outstanding medical bills but to also donate a portion of the proceeds to Families Fighting Childhood Cancer.
"She is an inspiration to anyone who knows her," said Waller, "Anything that I can do to help Morgan and others makes me feel good too."
Morgan said that she hopes that people will register for the run because it represents a bigger cause.
"It's more than just a run," said Morgan, "It means a lot to me and do the families who have to face cancer."
