FOX23 is following the investigation into a teen whose facebook post about killing a pit bull with an arrow quickly went viral.
The post has caused angry reaction from people all over the world.
Caisen Green met with Cherokee County investigators on Wednesday afternoon and told them he was target shooting in his yard when two dogs came onto the lawn. He says scared the little one off, but he says the Pit Bull began to growl at him.
Green told investigators that’s when he picked up his bow and arrow and shot the dog. He told investigators that his father later burned the animal because it appeared diseased. The Undersheriff says Green expressed deep remorse for posting the photo of the dog on facebook.
This all comes at a time when a petition that calls for him to be arrested and expelled from school is circulating. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has also been flooded with phone calls and emails regarding this case. We’re told deputies have even had to field death threats being made against Green for his actions.
The Undersheriff says he plans on turning over all the facts the DA's office on Wednesday morning and it will be up to them to file any charges.
