There were five times as many kids when I went to school can't remember this ever happening,as many child molesters as Tulsa has now they were very lucky something worse didn't happen.I say a butt bustin' might be in order for these two also.

Alimars, the article said they went by way of the creek. Yes you can get to Jim Glover from Skelly by way of the creek. You can go quite aways by way of the creek. I grew up in this area and went to Skelly as a Junior High School. We "lived" in the creek when we were growing up. You can travel from behind Skelly, (on 31st street) all the way to 41st between Memorial and Mingo. You can travel to Mingo between 31st and 41st. We have explored that creek extensively and spent many many hours playing in the creek. So nobody would see two five years olds crossing any intersections. Down in the creek, kids can go all over the place completely unnoticed. The sole responsibility is with the teachers and the school administration because they should have noticed the two walking across the playground long before they could have reached the creek. Times were different 35-40 years ago and kids could go places without being kidnapped or messed with by pedophiles, and no one worried about the dangers of the creek itself. I was 7 and my brother and sister were 6 and 5 when we would on a regular basis walk about the same distance as these kids did to get to Safeway and T.G. & Y. Now days you have to keep a far, far closer eye on children than our parents did in 1969 to 1977. I would NEVER let my kids or grandkids play in the creek the way we did growing up. I hope the teachers at Skelly use this to educate the kids on the dangers of going down in the creek. Plus there is a big difference in a 7th, 8th, or 9th grader on the playground and a couple of kindergartners. How could a teacher not notice 2 kids wandering away from the rest of the pack? They should have really stood out while walking the distance between the class and the very back of the playground where the creek runs behind and is fenced off.

Our Grandbaby goes to the same school and on the second day she was there I went to pick her up after school and they could not find her, it took them 40 mins to find her. This is just crazy how 2 lil kids can just walk off and no one notice.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad that I don't have children going to school now but I do have Grandchildren that are still in school. That teacher should of been fired on the spot no if ands or buts about it. What would she of thought if one or both of those little girls had of been kidnapped, hurt or killed. And the school should of had that fence fixed before school started back up. I would not live in Tulsa even if they gave me a big mansion to live in for free. NO WAY NO HOW. And yes Alimarz someone should of called 911 when they seen 2 small children walking by their selves like that..Thank you for the nice man from Jim Glover that noticed them and called for help to see where those poor little girls belonged. He is truly an Angel.
