The University of Tulsa is teaming up with the Oklahoma Blood Institute for the “Golden Hurricane Blood Drive.”
The drive will take place September 25-27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Allen Chapman Activity Center and on OBI bloodmobiles throughout the campus. All donors will receive a FEEL GOLDEN T-shirt, and a chance to win an autographed football.
OBI officials say every two seconds, someone needs blood. Donors with OBI provide every drop of blood needed by patients in more than 140 medical facilities across Oklahoma.
“Without a doubt, we’re thrilled to host the Golden Hurricane Blood Drive,” said OBI President and CEO John Armitage, M.D. “We fully expect this year to set the golden standard of blood donation on TU’s campus.”
“TU is proud to support Oklahoma Blood Institute and the ‘Feel Golden’ Hurricane Blood Drive”, said Ross Parmley, Director of Athletics at The University of Tulsa. "The University of Tulsa is committed to partnerships that benefit Oklahoma communities and I expect the Hurricane family will respond to this need in great numbers. We are pleased we can assist in saving lives."
Oklahoma Blood Institute is the ninth largest, non-profit blood center in America. To learn more about OBI’s 11 donor centers or mobile blood drives across Oklahoma, or to schedule a donation, visit OBI at
