Tulsa Public Schools announced Joe Redmond will lead the Booker T. Washington Hornets boys' basketball team.
Redmond has 18 years coaching experience, eight of those as a head coach.
"We are pleased to have Joe Redmond join the Booker T. Washington coaching staff as our head boys' basketball coach," said Gil Cloud, TPS athletics director.
"His experience and success as a head coach is outstanding and we look to continue the tradition of winning basketball at Booker T. under his leadership."
Redmond comes to Tulsa from East Central (Oklahoma) University in Ada where he led the men's basketball program. Prior to leading the East Central Tigers, he served as head coach at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas. Redmond has held positions at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma as well.
Redmond holds a Master's from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas and earned his Bachelor's from Pittsburg (Kansas) State University.
